The Ford Escort MK2 1600 Sport complimented the RS Mexico and the RS 2000. Although slightly lower in b.h.p. at 84, it was only 11 b.h.p. less than the Mexico and 18 less than the RS 2000. Manufactured between 1975 and 1979, the 1600 Sport was a huge success.
